Stance

Longer … lower … wider …. A brand-new platform gives Sequoia the bulk and muscle it needs to dominate the full-size SUV category.

Style

More prominent headlamps and over-sized side-view mirrors with available power retraction, turn-signal lamps, position memory and reverse-linked tilt functions complete the look.

Strut

To improve ride comfort and vehicle dynamics, the Sequoia struts its stuff on larger tires and wheels: 275/65R18 tires and 18-inch aluminium wheels [SR5], and 275/55R20 tires with specially-designed 20-inch aluminium wheels [Limited and Platinum].

Aerodynamics

A large beast maybe … but Sequoia’s lowered profile and aerodynamically sculpted mirrors, wipers, A-pillar and roof header reduce both wind drag and wind noise for better efficiency and comfort.

Detailing

Toyota’s renowned attention to detail can be seen in the large, easy-to-use and optimally-located door handles, wider rear door opening angle for easier passenger entrance/exit, and an integrated-into-the-frame towing hitch.

Interior

Seats

A new seat framework, with wider seats all around, makes for a more comfortable and spacious ride. And leather comes standard on all models.

Dashboard

Utility set in luxury. Sequoia’s dash features a modular instrument panel finished in metallic silver with chrome-coloured rings around the available Optitron gauges and climate control knobs.

Steering

Take command of the road with this newly designed four-spoke steering wheel, with available controls for the A/C system, Bluetooth®-enabled phones and other easy-to-reach functions. Tilt steering is standard on SR5 and Limited while Platinum features auto tilt with memory.

A/C

A dual zone climate control system features automatic air-conditioning with left and right independent temperature controls. A specially designed multi-layer filter helps remove dust and pollen from the cabin air.

Audio System

An improved audio system and optimized speaker placement make those long trips zip right by. An AM/FM/CD eight-speaker system comes standard on the SR5, while the Limited and Platinum come with a premium JBL 14-speaker system with Bluetooth® capacity. Both feature an auxiliary input.

Back-Seat Fun

On the Platinum and available on the Limited, passengers in the middle and third row seats can take advantage of a Rear Seat Entertainment system, featuring a DVD player and nine-inch LCD video display.

Connected

Thanks to their JBL system, Limited and Platinum make staying connected easy, with Bluetooth®-compatibility. The Platinum also makes getting lost a thing of the past with a new-generation navigation system with improved menu screen, seven-inch LCD display, and backup camera.

Storage

Thanks to a super-efficient layout, storage space isn’t at a premium. Features include plenty of front and rear cup holders and additional bottle holders, an oversized glove box, and available middle-row console capable of holding a load of CDs and DVDs.

Engine

4.7 Litre

Standard on the SR5, the dependable, efficient DOHC 4.7 iForce V8 boasts 276 hp, 313 lb-ft of torque, and the power to haul you and all your toys wherever whims and roads may lead.

5.7 Litre

The new kid on the engine block is the available 5.7L V8. With a massive 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque, the engine still manages Tier II Bin 5 emissions compliancy, thanks to Dual VVT-i, low-tension piston rings and a low-friction valve train.

4WD

Sequoia 4-wheel-drive models feature a two-speed transfer case with a lockable Torsen limited-slip differential. The transfer case uses a six-gear planetary ring instead of the standard four-gear ring, is shifted electronically via an easy-to-reach rotary knob, and locks with the push of a button.

Handling

Independence

Sequoia’s new platform features front and rear independent suspension for an unparalleled ride, handling and enhanced straight-line stability-and the ability to haul up to 9,095 lbs.

Features

Employing tubular shocks, coil springs and a hollow tubular anti-roll bar, the new suspension provides not only superior chassis dynamics and enhanced ride quality but also a turning radius of 12.5 metres, tightest in Sequoia’s class.

AVS

Available load levelling rear air suspension [Limited and Platinum] and Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) [Platinum] with comfort, normal and sport settings not only enhances ride comfort but also boosts heavy-load towing while ensuring the appropriate ride height and chassis attitude.

Advanced Controls

Sequoia comes equipped with Anti-lock Brakes with Electronic Brake Force Distribution and Brake Assist.

Handling Assist

One-touch 4WD, Active-Traction Control System (A-TRAC) and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) come standard on all Sequoia models.

Safety

Passive Systems

Sequoia’s collision safety performance is enhanced by state of the art seatbelt systems, standard equipment driver and passenger seat-mounted side airbags, and roll-sensing side curtain airbags that extend from front to third-row seat.

Active Systems

Active safety systems include ventilated disc brakes, front and rear, for superior braking and reduced brake fade; Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brake-force Distribution and Brake assist; Vehicle Stability Control while cornering; and Active-Traction Control for reduced wheel slippage.

Parking Assist

An intuitive sonar parking assist system provides added protection. Using sensors and an audible warning, the system alerts the driver of the position of objects and their distance from the vehicle.
